We’ve added a new award rule, ‘Worked While On Sleepover’, to help accurately pay sleepover shifts 😴.
With this update, you can now create a custom award rule to automate hourly payments for employees who work sleepover shifts. This builds on our recent updates, which added allowances for on-call and sleepover shifts and an on-call award rule.
To configure this rule, navigate to
Time & Attendance > Compliance > Custom Award Rules > Manage > + New Award Rule.
From here, name your rule, select which staff it applies to, and choose whether it applies to ordinary or overtime hours. Then, under Step 3, ‘Conditions’, tick ‘After number of hours worked’ and select ‘Worked While On Sleepover.’

Finally, select the rate at which the rule is paid, link it to your payroll system, and click ‘Create Rule’ 💰.
From here, we check if an employee had a sleepover schedule for the time they worked and apply the rule if so.
