Reece Miller what would you like to see happen as a result of this? One idea we had was to add them to the Talent Pool in Hire, but wondering what other ideas you had.

we have casual staff who have left and then come back a few months later, and when we reengage them it keeps the old start date, and if we change it we then loose when they have worked previously
Alex
Stacey Friswell you're right to do it that way; you can edit the employment start date when you reactivate the employee.

Alex So then we loose the reported time of when they left us. reporting that they have been with use for 2 yrs instead of 2 months for example. it would be good if it kept a log of the time they were disengaged. so history will show they were employed for 6 months then left for 3 months and have been engaged this time for 3 months. as part of the casual loophole rules this would be important to note they have not been a long term worker. doing it the way mentioned makes the reports show incorrect numbers
Alex
Stacey Friswell we keep an audit trail of all employee record changes (it shows as "employee history" under their profile), that would include changes to employment start date and employment end date. You never lose that data even if you change the dates.
Another way of approaching this would be on the pay conditions tab, all pay conditions have effective dates, so you could have them start and stop to reflect when the employee was active.
