Show people already on leave on new leave requests

Would be really useful to have a feature on the leave request page which shows how many people already have approved leave on those days. This would be a similar to the way that the leave request page shows the "Event happening in this period".
This feature would safe time in check the approved leave page when going through leave requests. At present we keep a physical diary with approved leave, as well as the Tanda Leave function. It would be nice to have these consolidated into one place.

I agree, there is a nice section to the right of an employees request where it can easily flag up showing what staff members are already on approved leave or approved unavailability on the dates in the request

It would be great if you could combine the leave and unavailability in one on the leave planner. Highlight in different colours what’s leave and what’s unavailability.

Hi all, excited to provide an update on this ticket.
Our product team have just released a beta for the Team Leave Planner. This is available in both the mobile app, and on the desktop.
The Planner can be found in the Leave and Availability tab of the mobile app, managers and admins can:
- View team leave requests next to already approved leave
- Edit, approve, and decline requests
- Create leave on behalf of staff
- Filter leave by teams or locations
- Filter by approval status
- Search for leave by employee name

Ryan Johnston: awesome! Is there scope to have this viewable for all staff? Would be great for staff to view the leave calendar before applying for their own leave. That way they have a better idea of when the best window for leave might be, whether or not their leave is likely to be approved or not. Thanks, Amanda

Ryan Johnston: Ryan Johnston: I agree with Amanda below - I would love to have staff be able to see themselves a calendar with leaves on it. Maybe could show that people have requested time off without divulging what type of leave it is? Just so the whole team understands who is off when and can plan their vacations around how many existing requests there are. We currently use an Outlook calendar that is shared with the whole team for this, but it would be great to use the app for it.

It would also be nice to have the number of people that have applied for leave as well as approved on any given date in a new leave request. This could be visible to the employee at the time they apply for leave as well as to the approver when approving leave.
By showing the employee at the time they apply for leave it will help manage expectations.

Hi everyone, we've consolidated two requests here:
"Show people already on leave on new leave requests" and "Multiple employees on leave warning".
We're now planning work to give transparency of existing leave requests when requesting/approving leave which will be aimed at the feedback on both items.
If anyone would like to be involved in the development and testing of these changes, please comment here.
In the interim we encourage use of the leave calendar (as per Ryan's comment below) in the interim.
