Why you would change the simple, easy to use system of adding unavailability to the absolute cluster of whatever you call the current system is beyond me. This is a perfect example of trying to "innovate" a perfectly good system into an over complicated mess.

I get this will never go back to what it used to be, because companies will never reverse an update like this, but this is the only real option to express my dissatisfaction.
