Merge duplicate timesheet entries on a single day

While we didn't explicitly build this, we fixed an underlying issue that caused this to happen a lot if timeclocks were offline or clockins were delayed. So I'm going to mark this as done. Please let us know if you're still seeing this issue!

Sometimes staff rush when clocking out (especially if their shift is at the end of the day) and select "clock in" for their clock out entry. This creates 2 timesheets - one with the actual clock in time logged under clock in, and one with the clock OUT time logged under clock in. This is an easy enough manual fix to enter the clock out time correctly, but the extra timesheet with the clocked time won't collapse. Creates a bit of confusion.

Mel Gilbert this sounds like an interesting problem. Is there a reason that managers will clock staff in manually, rather than wait for the timeclocks to sync the clock-in?

Austin Wilshire: sometimes (not often) there will be a glitch on the App (unsure why) and it will create a duplicate by itself. Manager did not do it.

Rebecca West: Thanks for this response. As noted below, this sounds like a bug on our end, I'll add this as a report and hopefully we can get it fixed soon for you.

Austin Wilshire: This happens to my company as well - but the issue isnt a signal glitch. Its that a employee will clock in at a store that is not yet on their profile. That cause it to be an uncategorised shift. The manager of that location / Team therefore doesn't see it - so they then go in and manually add in more time for the employee - rather than just filtering for an uncategorised shift. It would be great if the manager could see easily (without having to filter out for it) all shifts for their store - even if they are uncategorized.

Elizabeth Joseph-Lau: Thanks for the feedback! This sounds like a slightly different problem, but the good news is a solution to this problem would be relatively simple, and I'm sure it'd help many managers experiencing similar issues.

do we look like we will have any progress on this one?, it is super frustrating and difficult to manage

Alison Ellenor: Is the scenario similar to what Mel has described? With clockins failing to sync due to s spotty internet connection, and then managers manually add the entry? If this is the case, I'm looking to understand why managers add those entries manually rather than waiting. I'm also wondering if clockins are synced after hours, or days for you?

Austin Wilshire: ours actually happens because of troubled internet as well. Often managers do not fill in manually but the times come across as 2 different time sheets. you then add the finish time to the starting timesheet and delete the other one. Doesn't happen when the clock used it in wifi range all the time

Alison Ellenor: Thanks for this information. This sounds like a bug on our end. I'll report this and we'll get it fixed in the near future.
