Hello everyone who has voted or commented here.
We are currently working on some designs for how this will work. The plan is for any shifts that 0 variance meaning the clocked times match the rostered times will be automatically approved and highlighted with blue button in the approved tab on timesheets.
I would love to know what you think of this approach.

Renee: That looks great to me Renee, it will save our managers lots of time as they then only need to focus on the anomalies.

Merged in a post:
Auto-approve shifts on timesheets where the clock times match the rostered time - flag shifts with variances or missing times for managers to check
Joel Jensen
When approving timesheets it would be good to sort by variance so you can easily approve the ones that match the roster and pay more attention to those that have the great variance from roster cost.
Renee
Hey Joel Jensen what do you think about this idea: what if we pre-approved all the shifts that closely matched rostered and clocked times to save managers time and effort checking and approving these and then flagged shifts with variances / that need attention to be looked at.
Joel Jensen
Renee: I'm a big fan. It would be good if I could flag an allowable variance and any shift that fell within that variance was auto-approved. Would be much easier to look at timesheets that actually needed looking at.

Renee: Great idea Renee, this would save our managers heaps of time by only having to check and approve the shifts outside the roster and set variance.

As there are no audits from my understanding when creating roster I think there needs to be an audit of approval within timesheet but my thoughts are Tanda provide a dynamic "hit list" of shifts to be approved. Once each shift is approved, shift disappears from hitlist view. Manager continues until hitlist has been completed. Shifts within tolerances should have a different status so they can be identified and approved quickly.
Shifts outside tolerance should allow managers to easily see where and when clocking occurred. They should also use Tanda's best guess using user specified "smart rounding". eg an Event goes late and 30 casuals finish an hour later system suggest approriate time.
Long term this functionality would be ideal to be within app.
ie One shift per screen. Would be very quick to process.

This would add great functionality and continue to deliver the time savings Tanda is known for. Perhaps even include a simple exception report that allows the managers to quickly identify those items (employees) requiring further investigation prior to approval.
