We’ve added new automated rules to the Children’s Services Award Managed Template.
The Children's Services Award
(clause 22.3)
stipulates that an employee is entitled to a 10-hour rest period between shifts. Failing this,
they will be paid at overtime rates—which this update automates.
Previously, we automatically applied overtime rates for not meeting the required rest period between shifts
only if the previous shift ended in overtime
. Otherwise, you had to add a shift tag manually.
With this update, we automatically apply overtime rates for not meeting the required rest period between shifts
if the previous shift ended in ordinary hours or overtime.
See the example below, where fewer than 10 hours have elapsed between shifts, and the previous shift ended in ordinary hours. The employee is, therefore, automatically paid overtime rates.
