Payroll Officer Company File Scoping
You can now restrict a payroll officer’s access to
specific company files
, rather than giving them access to all payroll data in the account. This is currently rolling out to all AU and NZ accounts with Tanda Payroll, so you may not see these changes yet.
This is useful for organisations with multiple company files, franchise groups where a franchisee should only process payroll for their own location, or payroll officers who manage a subset of locations but not others.
When adding a payroll officer permission to an employee profile, you can
choose which company files they can access
(with Tanda Payroll enabled):
Once restricted, they will only be able to see pay runs, staff, timesheets, and leave requests for those files.
A few things to note:
- If an employee moves between company files, the payroll officer can still see payslips paid by their accessible files, but not the employee’s profile if they are no longer assigned to those files
- Scoped payroll officers can still view and edit organisation-wide settings such as earnings rates, leave types, deduction types, and super funds, as these are needed to process pay runs correctly
