In the coming days, Tanda will commence a staged release of changes to the pay conditions tab of the user profile. There isn't any change to the functional capabilities of the page, only to the way the page is designed.
Tanda is making these changes to make existing workflows clearer and in anticipation of future work to allow the creation of draft employment conditions.
What will change?
Customers will now have two options when they want to change an employee’s pay conditions:

1.
Edit these conditions
: This button will have the same functionality as is currently behind the ‘Edit Current Pay Conditions’. Functionally, the options behind this button allow users to: (a) edit the existing employment conditions, by changing the conditions’ start date or by otherwise editing the conditions from their existing start date; and
(b) create new employment conditions, by selecting another option for when the employment conditions should start (e.g. start of current or previous pay cycle).
This option is primarily to allow corrections to existing employment conditions. NB: changes to existing employment conditions without creating new employment conditions may overwrite historical, unlocked data (e.g. timesheet costings). However, we will retain the existing options that create new employment conditions so that we continue to support existing customer workflows. We will
not
be supporting the creation of draft employment conditions in this workflow.- Add new conditions: This button will be functionally similar to the existing ‘Schedule Pay Conditions’ button, except that the ‘quick select’ commencement date options will be more functionally useful:

This option allows customers to create new employment conditions that apply from the selected date, including in the future.
NB: We will be removing the existing ‘Schedule Changes’ button. That button’s functionality is retained in the new ‘Add New Conditions’ button.
Why is Tanda making this change?
- To make existing ‘future change’ functionality more obvious:Some customers were not aware that they could set employment conditions to commence in the future and send an employment contract relating to them. The label of the ‘Schedule Change’ button was unclear, and it was below the initial page load on some screens.
- To encourage customers to create new employment conditions:Updating existing employment conditions without creating new employment conditions can have unintended consequences (e.g. overwriting old timesheet and roster costing). Aside from updating errors, customers should be creating new employment conditions so that those conditions take effect only from an intended date.
- Getting ready for draft employment conditions:We wanted our existing employment condition functionality to be clearer and more obvious before we added a ‘draft’ option. The draft option will only be available when customers are making new employment conditions and it was important that new functionality was added somewhere customers will find it.
When will the changes take effect?
All things going to plan, Tanda will start rolling the changes today. Customers can expect to be using the new conditions in the next 1 to 3 weeks.
Tanda will be updating our help material in the coming days to reflect the new functionality.
