We’ve just added a new Long Service Leave feature, available for
all employees working in Queensland.
You can view and configure this by navigating to an employee’s profile and selecting
Payroll > Long Service Leave.
For this feature to work, an employee must have an employment start date set under their Personal Details
tab. Since an employee's entire employment history isn’t necessarily recorded in Tanda, you can use this page to add additional hours worked outside Tanda or additional days of non-continuous service outside Tanda.
The first time an employee is about to be paid a payslip that is entitled to long service leave, a warning will appear, notifying you the employee is about to accrue long service leave.
This notification links to the employee’s
Long Service Leave
tab to ensure their details are accurate before posting the pay run. After 7 years of continuous service, an accrual for contingent long service leave will appear on an employee’s payslip. The contingent leave balance is unusable by default—it’s only used for a termination payment.
Then, after 10 years of continuous service, a usable long service leave balance will appear on the employee's account. From here, employees can treat this like any other leave type to request leave.
Long service leave is calculated based on the time an employee has worked over their employment. We determine this using pay conditions for full-time employees and timesheets for part-time and casual employees.
Important:
This feature is currently only available for employees working in Queensland
. We hope to roll it out for other states in the coming months, so stay tuned!
